One of North America's most popular ornamental trees, Flowering Dogwood, AKA Cornus or Benthamidia florida has drooping glossy green leaves. Produces clusters of glossy oval red fruits and small white flowers. Fall colour is scarlet to red, almost pink. Blooming time is spring.
Native to Ontario.
Can be grown as a specimen tree or shrub. Plant in medium moisture and a well-drained soil, however, they will tolerate a wide range of soils. Thrives in some shade and in full sun only if roots are shaded.
