Delicate white flowers emerge in spring, gradually fading to soft pink. These are occasionally followed by rare red to orange fruit. The tree features drooping, dark green foliage that turns brilliant scarlet to deep red-purple in fall. Naturally narrow in its youth, the form broadens gracefully with age.
Grows best in medium-moisture and an acidic, well-drained soil, but will tolerate a range of light levels. Can be grown as a specimen tree or shrub.
