Also called Sea Grass, Armeria maritima ‘Alba’ is a compact evergreen perennial prized for its tidy cushion of dense, green needle-like foliage and charming white pom-pom blooms. Flowering in late spring and often reblooming lightly through summer, the delicate blooms rise above the foliage on slender stems, creating a soft, airy effect. Its low-growing, mounded habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, coastal plantings, and edging, where it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established and easy to maintain, this hardy variety adds texture, structure, and long-lasting seasonal interest to the landscape.
Easy to grow perennial needing a well-drained, sandy soil. Divide in the spring. Deadheading will stimulate new flower buds, extending the bloom time into the summer. A second set of blooms may appear in late summer when cooler temperatures occur. Generally pest- and disease-free. Suitable for rock gardens, borders, rooftops and walkways.
