This compact, densely branched ornamental tree features a low, spreading habit. In early spring, pale pink buds open to reveal fragrant single white blooms, appearing before the foliage emerges. The blossoms give way to small, dark red crabapples that persist through winter, adding seasonal interest. Its dark green summer foliage transforms to a vibrant yellow in the fall.
A good dwarf specimen. Use as a specimen, in small groups or mixed with other cultivars. Crabapples have visual appeal in the spring with their abundance of showy flowers. Added appeal lies in the fall and winter with their colourful fruit that is attractive to birds.
