This variety of Salvia features spikes of burgundy buds that open to reveal blue-violet flowers, creating a striking two-toned appearance. Its oblong green leaves release a pleasant fragrance when crushed. Ideal as a cut flower and beautiful both fresh and dried. The bloom period is from late spring to midsummer.
Best grown in a moist, average or dry, well-drained soil, in full sun. They are drought tolerant, once established. Shear back flowers after flowering to maintain a compact foliage habit and a possible late summer bloom.
