The Limelight hydrangea has cones of white florets that open greenish-white, changing to pink. Fall brings more shades of pink, and red and burgundy colours to the blooms. Plus the medium-green leaves turn yellow, sometimes dull purple. Bloom time is late summer to late fall.
Most hydrangea cultivars thrive in full sun to partial shade as long as they have adequate moisture and a rich, well-drained soil. This woody hydrangea can be trained or pruned into a tree form. Blooms on new wood, prune in late winter or early spring.
