Also known as Yellow Sedge, Carex pensylvanica is a compact, clump-forming sedge with a soft, cascading habit. Features bright green foliage that adds texture and movement to the garden. While its small flowers are only briefly noticeable, the plant produces seeds that attract and nourish birds.
Native to Ontario.
This abnormal sedge tolerates full sun to full shade in an average to dry, well-drained soil.
Cool Season Grasses: These grasses do the majority of their growing in early spring and start again when temperatures start to cool in the fall. During the warmer summer months, they stop growing and some will even go dormant. Cool season grasses flower in the spring or early summer. Most cool season grasses grow best in a consistently moist soil.
