What are pre-orders?
Plants that are available for pre-order are either:
1. Really popular so we make sure to always offer them for sale because we can get them in easily
2. Are only available seasonally so we try to help as many customers as possible get the plant they are looking for when it is available
3. Are available to us at a discounted price point that we want to pass on to consumers.

The Monstera Deliciosa plant is also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant because as it ages, it develops unique holes and splits (called fenestration) in its large heart-shaped leaves, making them resemble swiss cheese. These notches occur as a healthy preventative measure against the heavy rain and wind so common to its natural habitat. A tropical plant native to the Mexican rainforest, the Monstera Deliciosa quickly grows lush and glossy. Under ideal conditions, it can bloom white flowers and sprout edible fruit. This starter Monstera does not have fenestration yet!
The Monstera Deliciosa prefers high humidity, but is easy-going with lighting conditions. However, while it won’t kill the plant, low-light will impact the growth of a Monstera Deliciosa significantly. This plant needs weekly watering, but prefers to dry out between these sessions, so as to prevent root rot.
The fast-growing and expansive nature of a Monstera Deliciosa is a striking reminder that you aren’t all alone, at least not when you have such a lively companion. Overall low-maintenance, a Monstera Deliciosa is an ideal roommate, that is if you don’t mind surrendering some of your space.

About care instructions
Plant care can vary depending on placement, light and exact environment. You can always request plant care help here.
Water: 1-2 weeks
Let the soil dry out 50-70% between watering. You can either stick a chopstick or your finger in to make sure the top at least 2 inches of soil are dry or lift the pot to see if it feels a bit light. Water thoroughly and make sure to pot in well-draining soil with drainage holes. Depending on the season and light, you will need to water the plant every 1-2 weeks.
Sun: shaded light
This plant requires medium light. It can tolerate low light, but it wants to see a bit of sun every day. Placing it in a north-facing or east-facing window would be ideal. While it will survive your dark corners, it won't thrive in them. In the summer, you can place them outside in a shady area.
Humidity: high
This plant likes high humidity. Try to keep a minimum of 50%. Having it close to your humidifier or essential oil diffuser would be amazing.
