Hairy Beardtongue, AKA Penstemon hirsutus, has tubular two-lipped lavender flowers with white throats that grow in clusters on fibrous green stems. This plant is naturally found in dry woodlands and open fields, and blooming time is May to June.
Native to Ontario.
Adaptable to average, moist to dry conditions, in full sun to open shade and once mature are drought tolerant. Excellent cottage garden, rock garden or shade garden plant.
