Also known as Giant Wood Fern, Dryopteris goldiana is a deciduous native fern with an upright growth habit. Light green fronds emerge in clusters along long, wiry stems and shallow underground rhizomes. Spreads gradually to form a loose colony. Among the tallest of our native ferns, adding bold texture to shaded spaces.
Native to Ontario.
Dryopteris grow best in a moist to average, well-drained soil, in partial to full shade. They need constant moisture and do not like to dry out.
