The Florence Parks Rhododendron is a heavy-flowering, dark purple cultivar that features dark green leaves arranged in a broad, star-like whorl. It belongs to the Elepidote group and blooms in the early midseason.

Rhododendrons require constant moisture (but not standing water), a fertile soil with a low pH and grow best in partial shade. Any pruning should be done soon after flowering to ensure bud set. Plants can benefit from protection (burlap wrap) against drying winter winds and sun in an exposed location.
