Caring for an indoor Ficus Alii, also known as the Alii fig tree, requires a few essential considerations. Firstly, it thrives in bright, indirect light, so placing it near a window with filtered sunlight is ideal. Adequate watering is crucial but avoid overwatering, as the plant prefers slightly dry conditions between waterings. Regularly check the top inch of soil and water when it feels dry. Maintaining a moderate humidity level is beneficial, especially during dry seasons, through misting or placing the plant on a humidity tray. Fertilize the Ficus Alii every two to four weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Pruning can be done to maintain its desired shape and encourage bushier growth. Finally, be mindful of pests such as spider mites and scale insects, and promptly address any infestations with appropriate treatments. With proper care, an indoor Ficus Alii can be a beautiful and thriving addition to your home.

How to care for your

Ficus Ali

About care instructions

Plant care can vary depending on placement, light and exact environment. You can always request plant care help here.

Water: 1-2 weeks

Let the soil dry out 50-70% between watering. You can either stick a chopstick or your finger in to make sure the top at least 2 inches of soil are dry or lift the pot to see if it feels a bit light. Water thoroughly and make sure to pot in well-draining soil with drainage holes. Depending on the season and light, you will need to water the plant every 1-2 weeks.

Sun:

This plant needs at least a few hours of direct sun every day. Perfect for a space that faces a south-facing window or directly in your east and west-facing windows. Anything less, and you should consider getting a grow light. It can be placed outside in the summer, where it gets at least a few hours of direct sun a day.

Humidity: medium

This plant requires moderate humidity. Most households should be fine. Around 20-40% humidity works. It will be happy with more as well.
