Also known as Leptandra virginica or Veronica virginica, this large, upright perennial produces dense spikes of tubular white or pink flowers atop its stems. Its lance-shaped, dark green leaves add a complementary texture to its striking blooms.
Native to Ontario.
Grow in a fertile, moist soil, in full sun or partial shade. Somewhat tolerant of drought conditions, and even some road salt. Prune Veronicastrum back in early summer to increase branching and bloom count. This may also help prevent the plant from flopping over late in the season.
