Calamansi, also known as calamondin, Philippine lime, or Philippine lemon, is an economically important citrus hybrid predominantly cultivated in the Philippines. It is native to the Philippines, Borneo, and Sulawesi in Indonesia in Southeast Asia, as well as southern China and Taiwan in East Asia.
Calamansi is one of those ingredients that makes Filipino and Malaysian dishes taste truly authentic. It tastes like a sour orange or a slightly sweeter lime, and it has a fragrance to match.
Caring for an indoor Citrofortunella microcarpa, commonly known as a Calamondin or Miniature Orange tree, requires a few important considerations. First, it needs a bright location near a window where it can receive at least six hours of sunlight daily. Ensure the plant is potted in well-draining soil and water it when the top inch of soil feels dry, being careful not to overwater as it can lead to root rot. Fertilize the tree regularly during the growing season with a citrus-specific fertilizer to provide essential nutrients. Pruning can be done to maintain a desired shape and remove dead or damaged branches. To encourage fruit production, the tree benefits from a period of cooler temperatures and reduced watering during the winter months. By following these care guidelines, your indoor Citrofortunella microcarpa can thrive and reward you with its vibrant foliage and delicious miniature oranges.

About care instructions
Plant care can vary depending on placement, light and exact environment. You can always request plant care help here.
Water: 3-5 days
Keep the plant generally moist. Water as soon as the top layer of soil dries out. This plant prefers to stay hydrated regularly. Plant in a soil that retains a bit more water, but you should always ensure it isn't sitting in water or in a pot that doesn't drain properly. Depending on the season and light, you will need to water the plant every 3-5 days.
Sun: bright light
This plant needs at least a few hours of direct sun every day. Perfect for a space that faces a south-facing window or directly in your east and west-facing windows. Anything less, and you should consider getting a grow light. It can be placed outside in the summer, where it gets at least a few hours of direct sun a day.
Humidity: medium
This plant requires moderate humidity. Most households should be fine. Around 20-40% humidity works. It will be happy with more as well.
