Black-Eyed Susan is a popular perennial that features vibrant gold-petaled blooms surrounding a dark central eye, bringing bold colour and texture to the garden from midsummer through mid-fall. Its oblong to lance-shaped basal leaves reach up to 13 cm long, forming a lush mound of foliage beneath sturdy leafy stems topped with long-lasting flowers. Growing to approximately 75 cm tall in bloom with foliage reaching 60 cm, it’s an excellent choice for sunny borders, pollinator gardens, and late-season interest.
