The Autumn Blaze Maple is a fast-growing, upright variety featuring dense branching and a broad, oval-shaped crown. Its summer foliage resembles that of its silver maple parent, while fall brings a vibrant, long-lasting display of orange-red to scarlet-red color. Ideal for planting in dry sites.

A cross between silver maple and red maple, freemanii cultivars are faster growing, and change colour in the fall earlier than rubrum cultivars.  'Jeffersred' is quite adaptable, tolerant of drought conditions, and is not particular to soil type or pH. It can be grown as a specimen tree or multi-stemmed plant.
