Alocasia is a genus of broad-leaved, perennial flowering plants. There are 97+ species native to subtropical Asia and Australia. Growers worldwide have cultivated a wide range of hybrids and cultivars that make it one of the most exciting families to the collection. They tend to grow from tubers - also called corms - that can be kept inside for winters and replanted outdoors in the summer.
