Also known as Jupiter's Beard, this well-branched clumping perennial features fragrant, carmine-rose star-shaped flower clusters. Its grayish-green, oval to lance-shaped leaves can grow up to 10 cm long. An excellent choice for both fresh and dried arrangements, this plant adds a delightful fragrance and vibrant color to any garden.
Grows best with medium moisture in a sandy, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Drought-tolerant when established. In soils too rich, Centranthus may become leggy and require staking. Prune spent flowers to maintain shape, extend bloom time and prevent self-seeding.
