Snake plants are originally from tropical grasslands and native to West Africa. They're perfect easy to care for houseplants for beginners. Commonly marketed as thriving in low light, they tend to do best when given more light. Originally classified as Sanseviera, Snake Plants have recently been reclassified as a member of the Dracaena Genus. Whether they are called Mother in Law's Tongue or Viper's Bowstring Hemp, they will always be in the house plant hall of fame.
