Often confused with Banana Plants, Birds of Paradise are a flowering tropical plant native to South Africa. Its large leaves and colourful flowers make a common outdoor plant in the Tropics. 
  
While it is unlikely to flower indoors, Birds of Paradise are one of the most popular plants with interior designers because they create unique moments in any space.
