The Montmorency Sour Cherry produces large-sized fruit with a bright red skin. The amber-coloured flesh is juicy and flavourful, and considered the best for making pies. Bloom time is spring and fruits ripen in July.
This is a self-pollinating cultivar; it does not require a second plant nearby to set fruit. However, it will benefit from another variety (of Sour Cherry) nearby to increase production and fruit size.
